Southcars VOIP Organization Statistical Study

Ten year overview

Where we have been, where we are now, and

what is our vision of the future.

Thanks to the dedication and talent of George NO7O the following statistical analysis of Southcars VOIP is being presented.

At first this ten-year overview was started on the premise of evaluating several contributing factors. First in line was to determine the license class (Extra, General, Technician) along with Clubs, Repeaters, Links and foreign registrants that made up our membership. Along with this we were interested in determining the registration sequence of new members as to what month of the year they enrolled. We further determined how many new members registered for that month of the year, with each month of January through December individually aggregated over the ten years of our organization.

This project used a highly sophisticated computerized statistical search program. The program is called SAS (Statistical Analysis System). By supplying the program with a data file that you wish processed, you may tell the program what specific information you wish from that file. The SAS system along with the user written script will extract and summarize the information that you requested.

It is imperative that you know and recognize that this program’s syntax and logic is very different from those of more conventional program languages like C, webpage programming language utilities, and other more conventional linear programming packages. This is because programming steps are based on a mental conceptual of moving and analyzing bulk data, and not on more conventional linear logic programming steps. The burden is on the program and not the programmer to do the work, unlike the specific logical steps used in more conventional programming.

The results from this analysis were informative, fast in the processing time, and accurate within a very acceptable error deviation, especially given the complexity of the membership records over a ten-year period of multiple registration owners and systems.

The information will now be turned over to our Board of Directives with the intent of analyzing the information further and coming up with suggestions as to how this may be used to further our promotional effort for the betterment of Southcars VOIP and to increase enjoyment of the Southcars VOIP experience by our members.
