ABOUT SCARSVOIP
Scarsvoip is a nonprofit amateur radio organization which communicates and supplies free services to the world wide ham community. The organization is highly structured with an effective administrative staff made up solely from voluntary support.
This section is offered to you to give you a general overview as to how this organization functions.
SCARSVOIP made its maiden debut on January 5, 2008. This year of 2025 marks its continuous 24 hours a day and 365 days a year service for now 17 years.
It is managed and overseen by a board of directors consisting of seven strong leaders.
Our staff administrators are second to none in their capacity to control their sections consisting of Net Control Station scheduling, Data Base management, sysop control duties, hospitality department, Program management, and Web site duties.
The system is currently supporting four weekend net gatherings and a once-a-month technology program with the full membership interest in mind.
Our Website supports the latest news in the hobby, including archived podcast from our programing dating back to our beginning. Shows current announcements, net schedule, and who will be hosting the various nets.
Membership is for a lifetime and totally free. Enrollment may be made on our website or done so while you are talking to one of our NCS’s.
We maintain seven digital systems to join our network. INGRESS & EGRESS: *SCARS* node 96140, IRLP 9614, ALLSTAR 27404, DMR TGIF 265, D-STAR XLX073 J, FUSION YSF XLX073 DG ID 19, and M17 via M17-SCS-J.
Our organization operates under the rules and regulations outlined in FCC Part 97, and good amateur practice. We further operate under the old ham preference that everything is either free or cheaper.
